 Owner & Chef, John Parlagreco, was born to make food, especially Italian food. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, his father and mother came to the United States from Enna Sicily in Italy. His story starts with his grandfather, his mentor, who was native to Enna Sicily and owned and operated San Antonio Santa Maria Bakery. John’s grandfather believed in passing on the traditions to the next generation and thus John spent most of his youth summers in Sicily training to be a baker. He later went to Culinary School to master sauces and pasta. John also spent his early years at several of New York’s preeminent deli’s- such as Sal’s Deli and 2nd Ave Kosher Deli. Chef John excels in classic Italian cuisine, and he brings knowledge and experience, with recipes passed down from his grandparents. Quite simply, his life is food.
